Origin New Years Eve Festival shaped by containers

The Origin NYE festival began in 2007 as a New Year’s Eve music festival and it has grown over the years into one of the state’s premier NYE festivals, bringing bigger and better acts to Perth every year. The 2017 festival celebrated Origin’s 10 years in Perth, and Sea Containers WA was lucky enough to be a part of it, and to bring Bjorn’s (Origin Event Planner) masterpiece to light!

The even locations change each year, dependent on available space and expected crowds, and the 2017 event was held at Claremont Showgrounds, which our drivers are very familiar with, having provided containers for many events at the showbrounds over the years, including the Royal Show for show bag storage!

Bjorn liased with our customer service team member Jessica Johnson with a simple idea, and they worked together to construct the perfect festival layout using sea containers.
The industrial look went perfectly with the “terminal theme.

We had a tight two week schedule to work with and Origin required the containers to be painted specific non-standard colours. The units also had to be onsite on precise days and times. We happily took the challenge on, we had 12 staff working overtime to get each container up to a quality standard for our client.
We used our good quality second-hand units with minimal dents, they looked almost good as new with a nice paint job!
We watched 20ft and 40ft containers leave the depot daily, our sister company ICL Logistics was a massive help and delivered each container with care to the assigned spot in the showgrounds.

The Claremont showgrounds allowed 30,000 people through the gates, 30,000 people danced enchantingly throughout the night with over 30+ Sea Containers WA containers watching over them and provided the perfect ambiance to the terminal theme.

We received a lot of praise from this event and our client was very pleased with the service provided. We look forward to working with Bjorn and the Origin team for next years NYE party!
